Article Marketing: How To Write A Great Author Resource Box
If you are using article marketing as a lead generation strategy you probably spend a considerable time on researching your article. Then you work on your keywords, checking that they will rank highly with Google. After that you write your article, again remembering to put in the keywords that you have chosen. However, by the time you have done all that, are you forgetting to spend some time thinking about your author resource box, or signature box as it is sometimes called?
The author rescource box comes at the end of your article and the directories allow you this space to put in your links. Many people use this to tell the readers about themselves. Unfortunately this is not the best use of your author resource box. Remember why you are writing articles. It’s not because you want to be famous for writing articles on the internet is it? The reason you wrote it was to get leads for your business. Therefore you must consider that this makes the author resource box highly important, because this is where you are going to lead your prospects to your sites.
These tips may help:
1 The author resource box comes at the end of your article, so try to make it read as though it were part of your article. Make it flow on because you will lose readers if they realise that the article has finished.
2 Always try to give value to the reader. You could offer a free report or a free video. Or you could entice people with an offer of ’secret’ or ‘underground’ tips!
3 Offer something that solves a problem that the reader may have. If they are reading an article about article marketing, they may have problems about this subject. So put yourselves in their shoes. What difficulties did you face? What took you a long time to understand? Then offer them the solution in your author resource box.
4 Dont make your box too long and ensure you give them a call to action. Let them know what their next step should be. It’s not necessary to actually say ‘click on the link’, but do suggest they get your offer.
Generally you are allowed 2 or 3 links in your author resource box. I generally feel that two is enough. It is not necessary to confuse the issue with lots of links. Generally I will have one leading to my home page, or blog and one to the page with their free information or offer.
Make sure you are tracking your results so you know they are working well. If they do not work, try something else.
